New podcast launch: Tax Cents!

February 20, 2026

🎉 We’re live!

In the debut episode of Tax Cents, James Warner, CFP®, Lead Wealth Advisor at Warner Wealth and co-owner of Warner Allred Tax Solutions, teams up with Matt Allred, CPA, co-owner of Warner Allred Tax Solutions, to kick off a brand-new podcast all about making tax sense of your money.

With over 20 years of experience as a CPA, Matt brings deep tax expertise to the table, while James connects the dots between investing, financial planning, and real-world business decisions. Together, they introduce their collaborative approach: Warner Wealth leads comprehensive financial planning while working hand-in-hand with CPAs and estate planning attorneys to create smarter, more integrated strategies.

One of the core themes of the episode? Taxes are a sign of success—and the goal isn’t to avoid them, but to help clients keep more of what they earn through proactive, year-round planning (not last-minute scrambling).

To mark the launch, the conversation dives into major updates from the recenttax bill that will impact 2025 filings and beyond into 2026, including:

  • Changes to estate and gift tax exemptions

  • Expanded Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) sale exclusions

  • A now-permanent 20% QBI deduction

  • Continued enhancements to bonus depreciation and Section 179

  • A significantly increased SALT deduction

  • And beginning in 2026, the ability to take an above-the-line charitable deduction even when using the standard deduction

They also break down accelerated and bonus depreciation with a real-world example: a business owner purchasing a heavy vehicle (over 6,000 pounds) and potentially fully depreciating it in year one—as long as it’s purchased and placed in service by year-end. The key takeaway? Tax savings only work when the decision makes economic sense first.

The episode introduces a recurring segment, “Tax Potholes,” where future episodes will spotlight common mistakes and missed opportunities that can quietly derail even successful business owners.

Bottom line: Tax Cents launches as a practical, strategy-driven podcast for entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners who want to align tax planning with wealth building—and avoid unpleasant surprises along the way.
